From the Cleveland Museum of Art record

The textile's design consists of pairs of birds, possibly ibises, on either side of a tree alternating with a circle of pearls enclosing an eight-pointed star. These tapestry fragments were probably part of a clavus , a decorative band attached to the hem or cuff of a tunic.
