From the Cleveland Museum of Art record
Here we see a monument of ancient Greece through the eyes of a nineteenth-century Greek. This temple on the Acropolis in Athens, completed around 420 BC, was dedicated to the goddesses Athena and Nike, both of whom represented being victorious in war. Dimitrios Constantine, who opened a studio in 1858, was probably the second professional photographer in Greece.
