Venus, seen here dressed as a huntress, advises her son, Aeneas, to visit Dido, queen of Carthage. Venus wants her son to stop wandering and marry the queen. This tapestry is one from a series of eight that depicts the tragic love story of Dido and Aeneas which were gifted to the museum for display in the armor court.
