From the Getty Museum record
View of the Yomeimon Gate at the Nikko Tosho-gu shrine. Two monks stand at the top of the steps in front of the elaborately decorated gate. One of the monks stands with his back to the camera beneath the archway, while the other stands facing the camera at the top of the steps and holds on to the railing with one hand. Two statues flank the rectangular archway, which is surrounded by elaborate and detailed carvings and figures in relief.
