A silkscreen enlargement from a tintype depicting a self-portrait of Saye holding a bunch of cowrie shells in her mouth, or "peitaw" in the Senegambian language, Wolof. A cowrie shell bracelet is visible on her arm, representing wealth and fertility and used in divination.
