Portrait of a group of men gathered around a small chest with two long carrying poles attached to the top, possibly a portable fire hydrant, in front of a painted backdrop. Two men stand atop the poles and hold on to one end of a pump lever attached to the top of the chest, while two other men stand on the opposite side and hold the other end of the lever. Another man in the group holds a spray nozzle at the end of a coiled hose attached to the chest and sprays a stream of water up in the air over the group.
