View of the Hippodrome of Constantinople, known today as Sultanahmet Square. The Walled Obelisk can be seen on the far left and the Obelisk of Theodosius can be seen on the far right, with the Serpent Column standing in the square between them. Several men gather in the square in small groups, some standing in pairs, or sitting at the base of the obelisk. Two men stand facing each other with a folding table between them.
