From the Getty Museum record

The heading in gold and silver lettering identifies the text that follows as Luke's Gospel: *Iniciu[m] s[an]c[t]i evangelii s[e]c[un]d[u]m Lucam* (The beginning of the holy Gospel according to Luke). Below, Saint Luke at a lectern sharpens his quill in order to continue writing. On the scroll unfurled before him appears a portion of his Gospel: *Erit in diebus Herod[is]. . .* (In the days of Herod . . .).
