This head of Athena is carved as a separate element for insertion into a statuette body. She wears a Corinthian helmet, and there is a hole at the top of the helmet, possibly for the insertion of a crest. The face is round with narrow eyes. The mouth is closed with full lips. The hair spreads out under the helmet and flows down the back of the neck in a thick braid. The helmet is pushed back on the head; there is a ram head in relief on each cheek piece.
