Harpocrates statuette

Seated, naked figure of Harpocrates. The god is wearing the double crown with the lituus. The red crown is decorated with the uraeus and has a hole on the right side to insert the now missing side-lock of youth. The red crown is incised with dots and has an incised vulture with outstretched wings at the back. The god’s face has recessed eyes for the now missing inlays. The god has a wesekh-collar, with a heart (Gardiner F34) as pendant and a menkhet-counterpoise at the back. Harpocrates has his arms at sides, detached from the body, with hands open, the palms facing down. The leg muscles are indicated, the legs are together, parting at the knees and ankles. The feet rest on a thick square base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts. Dimensions: 4.5 cm x 16.5 cm x 5 cm. Museum location: Not on display.
