Buckle with a ram figure

Buckle with a ram figure. The animal is rendered in a stylised form: the eyes are lateral and protruding, the mouth is open, the horns curved forward, and the neck is elongated. The body is small and disproportionate. The legs are folded beneath the body. The buckle is rectangular in shape, with a rectangular opening in front of the ram. In front of the ram is a hole with a broken ring. On the underside of the buckle are two loops at the centre, traversed by a small iron bar, and a further loop, now broken, at the rear. The upper surface of the buckle bears Greek characters in relief. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts. Dimensions: 4.8 cm x 4 cm x 5 cm.
