Harpocrates statuette

Standing figure of Harpocrates, striding with left leg forward. The god is wearing the double crown, the lituus is missing. The red crown is decorated with the uraeus. A streamer descends from the crown on the upper back. Harpocrates has a decorated side-lock on the right side of the head, which ends with a curl on the shoulder. Harpocrates has a necklace with a pendant, which is not clearly visible. The left arm is at side, the hand is clenched in a fist. The right arm is bent, the hand is broken. It seems that the feet broke at the ankles and seem to have been recently repaired. The figure rests on a hollow rectangular base. The front and right sides of the base are inscribed. Two square tenons protrude from the base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts. Dimensions: 5.5 cm x 20 cm x 7 cm. Museum location: Not on display. Image views available: 7.
