In this vision from Revelation 19, Christ appears on a white horse as he prepares to make war on the kings of the earth who oppose him. Behind him stands a host of righteous supporters: the prophet Moses (at the top, with the Ten Commandments and fiery horns), and the apostles, including Saint Peter (with the key) and Saint James (with a scallop shell on his hat). The enemies of the faith below include a “false prophet” (19:20) with an Eastern hat and a book that is likely the Qur’an, whom Christ fends off with blazing eyes and a pointed sword.
