After Judas betrays him with the predetermined sign of a kiss, Christ is taken, unresisting, into custody. The apostle Peter can be seen at bottom denying that he knows Jesus for the third time before the rooster (at middle left) crows to signal dawn. The architecture of the ornate framework has changed from that of a garden to a tented building with columns where Jesus will be held prisoner.
