This bottle painted with iron-rich pigment beneath celadon glaze was probably produced in Haenam kilns in southern Jella province. The method that paints patterns in iron-oxide pigment is believed to have developed in kilns in China, such as Xicun in Guangzhou, Cizhou and Ding in Hebei province, and Yaozhou in Shaanxi province around the 900s. This bottle was painted with iron-rich pigment beneath celadon glaze.
