The procession of figures, riders, and chariots correspond in part to a section from the east wall in stone chamber 2 of the Wu Liang shrine. To make a rubbing, a moistened sheet of paper is laid over an image and tamped with an ink pad that then colors the raised areas, while leaving concave sections and incised lines white.
