From LinkedCulture
This is one of only a handful of etchings Albrecht Dürer ever made, which places it among the rarest prints from the greatest German artist of the Renaissance. Around 1515 to 1516, he bit lines into an iron plate with acid, and you can see the difference from his precise engravings in the slightly rough, irregular strokes across the gaunt central nude's ribs and musculature. A turbaned woman stands to the left, a reclining figure sprawls lower right near a scattered shield, and the whole composition feels like a deliberate experiment. This print is a visible record of a master pushing into unfamiliar territory.
