In the 20th century, designers of French furniture in the Art Nouveau style began to take inspiration from Rococo pieces of around 1750. With its gently curving forms, this bench exhibits the Majorelle firm's version of this refined taste. It is presently covered with a Japanese brocade of about 1900.
