As early as the seventh century, the practice of drinking tea and wine became an important part of elite culture in Korea. Elites of the Goryeo period commissioned a variety of types of utensils and vessels made in both ceramic and bronze, including this handsome bronze wine bottle to make their drinking experience more exciting. A bottle with a wide opening is one of the popular types for both bronze and celadon wares. Its ceramic counterpart is 1918.435.
