Most of the elements of this armor were made together, forming a single suit. The lower legs contain some modern restorations. The helmet is believed to be the work of the esteemed Augsburg armorer, Lorenz Helmschmied, who was active at the Hapsburg, Mantua, and Urbino courts between 1467 and his death in 1515. This armor was made to mimic the trend of pleated clothing that was popular at the time.
