Yohei III’s main output for his sophisticated clientele was in the form of tea sets and dining sets. He created a range of dishes in green glazes. He often produced in pairs, sets of five, or sets of ten. This pair of shell dishes have a box lid interior attestation by Yohei IV that the dishes were made by Yohei III with a cracked-ice ( hyōretsu ) pattern in the glaze, omitting reference to any glaze coloration. These shell-shaped dishes are of the saucer type, suitable for dipping sauces.
