Shallow ribbed glass bowls are a fairly common ancient glass vessel type, likely made by blowing or pressing molten glass into molds. After cooling, an artisan would rotate the bowl on a wheel or lathe, using a gentle abrasive to smooth out imperfections. Although this bowl was probably mold-made, several of its unevenly formed ribs show pincer marks.
