Only the wheel of a chariot and upper body of an archer riding in it are preserved on this small bronze relief fragment from an armored belt. The scene would have originally depicted a hunt, with the archer turned back to confront the animal as it pursued the chariot. The figure wears a high conical cap or helmet. Scenes of chariots, horsemen and archers hunting lions, bulls and other animals are typical decorative motifs on Urartian belts. Holes along the upper edge would have been used to attach the fragment to the leather strap of the belt.
