David Hill and Robert Adamson posed the Reverend Dr. Abraham Capadose in a seated position, grasping a large Bible. Capadose, a physician and a Calvinist writer from The Hague, in the Netherlands, joined the Free Church of Scotland. Its supporters came from all over the world. Hill probably used this print as the basis of the minister's portrait in his painting, *The Disruption Picture*, where Capadose appears at the extreme right.
