In the period shortly after A.D. 300, the workshop of Gududio created red-slip pottery in the Roman province of Africa, in the central area of modern Tunisia. Gududio is known only from the signature on a head vase in the Getty Museum. For some unknown reason, potters in North Africa in this period signed head vases more frequently than other forms they potted.
