Tabloid gem engraved on its base, top and shoulders. Engraved on the base is the image of a Persian horseman drawing a bow at a rearing lion. He wears a soft cap and sleeved tunic over trousers. His horse has a decorated saddle cloth and dressed tail. Engraved on the top is the image of a Maltese dog. Engraved on the shoulders is the image of running animals: an antelope, a fox, a calf, and a bear.
