A successful engraver and print dealer in Rome, Tommaso Cuccioni took up photography in 1852. He photographed paintings in the Palazzo Farnese and exhibited views of Rome at the World Exhibition in London in 1862. Photograph of a statue depicting a nude male figure, formerly in the collection of the Marchese Giampietro Campana. The statue is possibly a representation of a young athlete. Part of his left arm is missing and a fluted column-like support can be seen along the figure's left leg.
