Photograph of "Cleopatra's Arrival in Cilicia," a painting by William Etty. The painting depicts a bustling and celebratory scene on an embankment where an ornately decorated ship is docked. Cleopatra, depicted as a partially nude female figure reclining on a canopied platform, can be seen on the ship, surrounded by her entourage. A number of putti are visible on the upper left area of the image, descending from the sky. An inventory number can be seen on the lower left corner of the image.
