This slender hexagonal goblet has an attached stem with a hollow knop formed from two lion's head masks. Although a variety of hexagonal-shaped glasses have been attributed to Murano, Italy, or to Northern European glassmakers working in the Italian manner, the painted geometric decorative motif is mainly found on glasses produced in Germany and Bohemia. Delicate Venetian-style glasses like this one were often used to hold wine.
