Saint Benedict receives a vision of a radiant light and falls to his knees in prayer. In the right border, a hand emanating from clouds points to the upper right corner, the source of the vision. Typical Renaissance motifs borrowed from antiquity-a chubby putto, garlands, and vases-fill the left border.
