Portrait of a woman wearing a dress typical of the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. She stands at an angle in front of a chair, resting one hand on her hip. Her other arm is bent at the elbow to lean on a sideboard along the wall, as she rests her head in her hand. A mirror hangs on the wall behind the sideboard, and a stack of books and tea set sit on top.
