This helmet of the Negau type is decorated with an incised band of palmette ornaments just above the offset near the base of the crown. The exterior face of the rim bears a band of patterning comprised of evenly spaced vertical lines intersected by four contiguous horizontal bands. Roughened areas representing the places for attachment plates for the crest are visible on top of the helmet on either side of the ridge-line. Hooks are located at the back, sides and front of the helmet were for attaching lanyards for stabilization of the crest. Two closely spaced holes on opposite sides of the helmet just above the rim were for threading the ends of a chin strap.
