Photograph of one of the two central fresco panels by Raphael and his workshop in the Loggia of Cupid and Psyche in the Villa Farnesina. It depicts the council of the gods summoned to decide upon the fate of Cupid and Psyche, with various gods and mythological figures in attendance. Jupiter is seated in contemplation with his hand under his chin on the right area of the image. On the left area, Mercury is seen presenting Psyche with a cup of ambrosia, granting her immortality. The overall image appears to be composed of separate sections that have been collaged together and then rephotographed.
