The curly-haired man portrayed in this funerary relief wears boots and a tasseled mantle over an undergarment with vertical folds. He holds his right hand flat on his chest. A whip dangles from his left hand. His stylized hair is rendered in rows of short curls with the ends tightly rolled up. The sculpture is carved in the distinctive style of Phrygia (in present-day Turkey).
