Four arches organize the references to the same events found in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark on this canon table page. As on the preceding pages of canon tables, lively patterns of stripes, swirls, and organic and geometric shapes decorate the columns. Gold and silver paints applied to the bases, capitals, and haloes of the evangelists' symbols further enrich the design.
