From the Getty Museum record
View of the exterior of the François I entrance to the Fontainebleau palace, as seen from the oval courtyard. The entrance is a double doorway, with the two doors separated by a pilaster. The central band of the entablature over the doors reads: "PAVILLON DE LA PORTE DOREE." A pediment sits on top of the entablature. High relief sculptures depciting figures frame either end of the pediment.
