Obverse: Head of Athena in profile, wearing round earrings and crested Attic helmet ornamented with spiral palmette and three stylized olive leaves, on the right. Reverse: Owl with large head standing to the right, crescent moon and olive sprig behind. Inscribed vertically to the right of the owl: "ΑΘΕ" [an abbreviation of ΑΘΕΝΑΙΟΝ, which means "of the Athenians."]
