From the Getty Museum record

The preserved head is life-size. The face is idealized with full, slightly parted lips and large almond-shaped eyes. The hair forms a wreath around the head, the flat top of which protrudes slightly above the worked hair. It is parted in the center with locks separated by deep channels and strands indicated by shallow grooves. The strongly wavy hair falls down either side of the center, growing thick just above the ears. Behind the ears, the hair is pulled upwards into a thick knob at the back of the head. Part of the chin, nose, and back of the head have broken away. The top of the head is flat, sloping, and roughly worked with a large square dowel hole located in the center. Most of the hair and some of the face are covered with a yellow-brown patina, the rest remains fairly white. A thin crack runs from the left side of the nose, under the left eye to the temple.
