From the Getty Museum record
A silkscreen enlargement from a tintype depicting a self-portrait of Saye with her head bowed in a profile view. A healer holds a cow horn, "nak bejjen" in the Senegambian language, Wolof, to the nape of Saye's neck. Smoke billows around the object. This is a ritual to suck the impurities out from a person's body in Gambian spirituality and culture.
The authoritative record is held by Getty Museum. LinkedCulture surfaces this object and its connections; it does not alter institutional metadata.
