Carved in the round, this slightly under life-size head depicts a male youth. The thick hair is unarticulated and frames an oval face. The eyes are carefully depicted with heavy upper and lower lids. The carving of the proper left eye is slightly better than that of the right; the left eyeball is gently curved with the right eyeball flat. The proper left cheek is rendered with more modeling than the right one. These features indicate that the head was meant to be seen from a three-quarter right view. Both ears are well articulated with the ear channels created by drill work. This head probably belonged to a figure on a high relief sculpture.
