Marble head once belonging to a full-length statue (indicated by the folds of clothing still visible on the back), probably an official. The elongated and bearded face, caplike hair, and exagerrated staring eyes (with U-shaped pupils) are all characteristic of portraits from the Late Antique period. Nose missing.
