The head, set on a flared neck, presents a broad face with eyes that have outer edges turned downward and eyebrows contiguous with the upper eyelids. The thick nose has broad nostrils; the fleshy mouth is elongated, very roughly finished, and apparently twisted in a grimace. Deeply-incised, flame-shaped locks frame the face, while the rest of the hair is pulled back and covered by a sakkos, or cloth cap. The ears are adorned with spherical earrings.
