A scene from the Bayeux Tapestry depicting William, Duke of Normandy and his army arriving at Hastings to seize food and make a camp. Several of the townspeople of Hastings and their animals stand in front of the soldiers. To the right stand two men at a spit, roasting meat over the fire, as several servants prepare other dishes. A border decorated with different types of animals runs along the top and bottom. Latin text above the scene reads "TINGA UT CIBUM RAPERENTUR HIC EST WADARD HIC COQUITUR CARO ET HIC MINISTRAVER MINIS"
