From the Getty Museum record
A man, perhaps a Roman official or other important person, of about forty years of age. The subject's head is turned slightly to the right. His hair is cut short and receding at the temples; it is rendered in short locks brushed forward from the crown of the head. He has a furrowed brow, wrinkles around his eyes and a sag in his cheeks. The eyes are deep-set underneath a heavy ridge with a prominent nose above full, fleshy lips. The face, though fully modeled, is expressionless. The edges of the ears have been chipped off and a fragment is missing from the lower edge of the bust. A long crack runs from the left temple diagonally across the face to the nose; there are some slight scratches in the hair.
