Portrait of Antinous. Asia Minor marble, large-grained. The break occurs at the top of the neck below the chin. All surfaces are rather badly chipped, especially the curls in front, the eyebrows, the chin, and the lips. The nose is broken off, both earlobes are damaged. The pupils of the eyes are drilled, and the iris is rendered in relief separated from the pupils by an incision; the figure looks to the left. The hair is arranged in long curls combed forward over the forehead and in tiers in the back. The youth also has long sideburns.
