View of the crowd gathered for the execution of John Doyle Lee, the Mormon leader convicted of leading the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Lee, wearing a hat and scarf, sits on his coffin on the left side of the image, surrounded by a small crowd of men in a field. Other groups of men are gathered across the field, some on horseback, some with horse-drawn carts.
