On the top of this helmet of the Corinthian type is an attachment plate in the shape of a palmette to affix the crest. Originally there was an opposing attachment plate, now missing. Three hooks are attached to the helmet at the back and sides just around the rim, which were used for fastening lanyards to stabilize the crest. The fourth one, originally placed at the front, is missing.
