Group portrait of three men, two of whom are seated. The accompanying caption identifies the sitters as, from left to right, Col. Henry Yule, then Chief Secretary to the Government of India in the Public Works Department; Maj. William Arden Crommelin of the Bengal Engineers; and Sir George Udney Yule, the elder, then Commissioner of Oudh. The group is posed as if they are discussing a piece of paper held by Henry Yule, inscribed with the words, "PWD Budget 1862-63 Oudh." Henry also points a finger at George while placing his other hand on Crommelin's shoulder.
