Photograph of "Hagar and Ishmael" by August Wittig, possibly a plaster model of a marble statue that was completed later. It depicts Hagar and her son, Ishmael, in distress with the boy appearing to have fainted in his mother's arms. Wittig's name and the year 1854 are inscribed around the base of the model.
