> I was a little boy living in a little town in southern Ohio when I first thought of going out West to hunt Indians. I loved Indian stories...When I was twenty-three I did just as I said I would do, but instead of hunting Indians with a gun and bowie knife...I was to hunt my Indian with a camera, paint brushes, and a writing pad. It was particularly the stories by James Fenimore Cooper that influ
